“But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak.
Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. (Job 2:10 ESV)
We all have pain and trials. Remember that God has not forsaken you; God is with you. God allows things so that we may grow as His children, not necessarily because it is a punishment. Also, remember that you have others around you. Jesus had Simon of Cyrene to help carry his cross. You have fellowship to rely on to help you carry yours. In Matthew, Jesus said, “Take up your cross and follow me.” We are blessed to suffer in the name of Christ. Just don’t whine about it; it is a blessing.
Heavenly Father,
Give us strength as we carry our cross for Christ. Help us negotiate the pain and suffering. Fill our memories with the image of the cross so that we might be cleansed and remember His overwhelming sacrifice. Father, give knowledge and wisdom to the doctors and nurses who treat us in our times of need. Let them carry out your will. Lord, even if it is not your sovereign will to heal us, we worship you and give you praise; despite our suffering, we love with all of our hearts.
In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
