You are Blessed

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:11 ESV

Paul wrote this to the men of Corinth, but it applies to everyone. Being a Christian is not an easy thing. We are at war with our sinful nature, we strive to be Christlike in our lives, and we will all carry our cross in some fashion. We do not look at what is happening around us as war, but truthfully it is spiritual warfare. This society has been and is in the control of the enemy. But fear not; Christ overcomes all things.

Do not be fearful or worry about this life. Christ has blessed us in two ways that we should never forget. First, if we wake up, we are blessed to have another day to worship the Lord. We get to enjoy his creation around us. Even on a rainy day such as this, we get to smell the rain and see the grass turn from brown to green, fed by the waters of the Lord. We also get to serve Him another day.

Second, if we open our eyes and are in heaven, we are blessed to be in the presence of the Lord our God. Either way, every day will be a blessing.

Do not concern yourself with the world because, as a Christian, you are no longer a part of the world. You have already passed from death to life through your faith in Christ; eternity awaits you. Make today a blessing for someone who needs God’s love.
