“…but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 ESV)
We just cannot understand the depth of God's love. It surpasses our love for our own children. The love of God is the reason we are able to be saved in Christ. Everyone knows John 3:16, but few truly understand what it tells us.
God knew you before the beginning of time. He knows every hair on your head, including the ones you may be missing. Before creation. if you have come to Christ, your name was written in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain. (Ex. 32:31-33; Ps. 69:28; Isa. 4:3). If you do not know Christ and are reading this, your name may be there as well. We know for sure that not all names are written in the Lamb’s book, as we are told in Revelation (Rev. 13:8); some will not be saved and will worship the beast.
Christ became human out of love. He was born of man and walked this earth experiencing everything we experience except sin. He became hated by His own people, and becoming a curse for us, He went to a tree to be crucified of His own free will and to complete God’s plan of redemption for His children.
It is easy for us to feel sorry for ourselves. We can suffer from depression. We can be lonely and feel as though there is no one in the world who loves us. Forget the world; there are three persons who have a love for you that can never be matched: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When you know Christ personally, you are never alone. Our lives and our ability to love are given to us because God loved us first.
I have a set of questions on my refrigerator that I read and answer every day. They are:
1) What does God think of me? Answer: He is delighted with me.
2) When was I converted? Answer: Before time. (I have been enabled to understand the Gospel)
3) What kind of day is today? Answer: Today is a great day because God planned it. It may not be for my happiness, but it is for my holiness. If I am holy, I am happy.
4) Why is today a better day than yesterday? Answer: Because today I am one day closer to seeing my Lord.
If you are a true Christian, try asking yourself these questions every day. It will strengthen your faith. Give you confidence throughout the day. Most importantly, it will deepen your love for God.
He loved you first.
Peace and Grace!
Please pray for my dear friend Marilyn. Thank
