“The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.’” (Revelation 11:15 ESV)
Our day of celebrating the birth of the Lord has now passed for another year. Only God truly knew where the birth of the Christ child would lead. After Jesus’s crucifixion, the Pharisees, Pontius Pilate, and Augustus Caesar believed they were rid of Jesus of Nazareth. Two thousand-plus years later, believers celebrate His birth, His death, resurrection, and ascension. Many will still come to faith in Jesus Christ.
The birth was the beginning. As we approach the start of a new year, let us reflect inwardly on our relationship with the Messiah. Let us remember our shortcomings and pray for strength to turn from the beast and stay on the narrow path. Let us pray for Christ's mercies and grace, which are new daily for believers in the Son of God.
The Magi, Mary, and Joseph saw it, the apostles saw it, and those the Father enabled saw the true Son of God incarnate and believed. Do you believe it? This past month, we heard the words and ideas penned by Sinclair Ferguson. Did they light a fire inside you? Did your curiosity grow strong about the God/ Man Jesus of Nazareth?
Abandon your religiosity for the truth in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Salvation through faith in Jesus changed the world in the early 1500s, beginning with the likes of Jan Huss, Martin Luther, and John Calvin; this faith continues to change the world. There is no time, there is an urgency in truly knowing Jesus and taking Him as your Savior.
We pray for you, our brothers and sisters in Christ that God will bless and keep you. We pray for your continued growth in sanctification. We pray that those who do not yet know Jesus may be called to His table, the marriage supper of the Lamb. If you do not know Christ, reach out to us here at In Messiah, we can help you find the path to the Lord and the peace and salvation He offers to all believers.
Grace and Peace!
