Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth! (Psalm 96:6 ESV)
God has been quiet for a long time. Since the resurrection, God the Father has been silent. So, people think He is not real. These are just stories. Sure, sure, there was a man named Jesus, but so what?
If you are a Christian, a true Christian who believes the five Solas, then you know He is real because He changed you. If you do not know Him, look around; do you think all this happened accidentally?
God is sovereign. Grieve for what you see happening in Israel. Grieve and pray for the families who live there and those Hammas murdered. But make no mistake, God is sovereign. So, how does something like this that will most likely continue to escalate come to fruition? There is a proverb that I reach for whenever the sovereignty of God might be called into question. Psalm 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” Evil exists and will continue to exist until Christ throws Satan into the lake of fire. God controls everything, and what one may mean for evil, God will use it for good.
The other side of this is that I believe God has turned this society over to its sin. God has said, you don’t believe anymore, have at it. This rebellion accounts for the normalization of abomination. Yet even being turned over to its sin, God will still use this wretched society for good. People will continue to spread the Gospel, and those hidden elect will continue to come to the Lord.
There is no sense in panicking, worrying, or prepping for the end of the world. God is sovereign, and if you are a true Christian, you know that to die is to gain Christ. Pray, my brothers and sisters pray. Pray for Israel. Pray for our president to wake up and do the right thing. Pray to God to reveal his glory.
This world needs a wake-up call…… Amen, somebody, please.
