As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” (Hebrews 3:15 ESV)

“I feel like there is something more for me.”

“Something tells me I should be doing something different.”

“God saved me from death; He must have something planned for me.”

“I feel different than others in my family.”

“I feel like something is wrong.”

“Something tells me there is more to my life.”

Have you ever felt this way? Have you ever had someone say one of the statements to you? If you do not know Jesus, then you are missing everything. If you think you know Jesus but have not surrendered to Him completely, you may feel this way, and you are still missing everything.

God moves us; it is He who is in control, not us. Surrendering to the power of God is hard. Most of us think we are in control. Unfortunately, this is not the case. We are being led. Yes, we have the power to make limited decisions in our life but, but either Satan knows our weaknesses and leads us into sin, or we have surrendered to Christ, and He is in control of our lives.

Look, by surrender, I mean you give up. You totally, and completely place your life in the hands of your Savior. It is not easy for humans to relinquish this type of control. I made a mess of my life and still suffer terrible spiritual scars. It was not until I gave up, not until I gave my life to Christ 100%, that I understood peace. I made Jesus the center of my life, not me. When I surrendered, everything changed. Christ changed me. Yes, I fail, yes, I sin, yes, it hurts. Jesus is all lovely. I do not care how much money you have, what kind of car you drive, how much your shoes cost, how big your house is, or where you vacation; the only thing that matters to me is do you know Him, the Christ, the Messiah, your savior.

If you have felt any of the opening statements, listen to the writer of Hebrews. Do NOT harden your heart; give it up. Give it to Christ, and He will change it from stone to flesh.

One night, I prayed that God would break my heart with what breaks His. Honestly, I was not prepared for what followed. God did break my heart. Now I wake in a sweat, thinking there are thousands of people who do not know Him. I know that this fact breaks His heart. I never thought this would be me. I am not the man I was.

Feel like there is more? Feel different? Not sure what’s wrong? God is calling you…. Do not harden your heart; do not harden your heart. Make Christ the brightest center point of your life. Make Him first in your order of importance. Ask Him to guide, not lead you. When you have a guide there is a relationship in place between the guide and those guided. Let Jesus guide you.

Peace and Grace!
