“I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his (might, and the wonders that he has done.” (Psalm 78:2-4 ESV)

These verses from Psalm 78 are a shadow of Christ. It is Christ who spoke in parables and used the Old Testament with a knowledge unseen in ancient Israel. Christ preached the Gospel to all those who would listen. But how could Christ preach the Gospel when He had not died yet? Remember, my friends, Jesus is the Gospel, and He preached about Himself, that heaven had come near, and the kingdom of God was at hand. The Gospel is not four books; the Gospel is our Savior, and He is found throughout the entirety of the Bible.

We have seen Christ in our passages and His fulfillment of all the messianic prophecies. He will fulfill His promises and the prophecies of the New Testament as well. Is your heart ready? If you do not know Him, seek Him. Wise men still do.

Peace and grace.
