Sorry, You are not eligible.

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.  Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.  But this is to fulfill what is written in their law: ‘They hated me without reason.’(John 15:18-25 ESV)

So, there you have it. If you are a Christian, the world will hate you. I have seen it, have you? I have been called a devil, evil, a hater, and much, much worse. Attacks on Christians have intensified over the last several years. I am not talking about physical attacks, which happen, but constitutional freedom attacks, the First Amendment freedoms.

I read an article yesterday that caused me great concern. Our president’s administration is trying to pass a law that would essentially ban Christians from becoming foster parents. Private foster agencies are already denying Christians the ability to foster or adopt because of their faith. However, this law would end any possibility of Christians caring for children, not their own, at a federal level. Christians are three times more likely to foster than the general population.[1] The sad part is Christians make up a large section of the community who foster and adopt. It is the children who will suffer.

Here is the foundation of the law, “The rule, Safe and Appropriate Foster Care Placement Requirements, would mandate that foster parents and families utilize a foster child’s “identified pronouns, chosen name, and allow the child to dress in an age-appropriate manner that the child believes reflects their self-identified gender identity and expression.”

This law is being battled by many who realize the negative results of this type of discrimination. Attorney generals are arguing that this type of care is the duty of a Christian, and denying that will have devastating repercussions for the foster care system.

Our legacy of service in this country is being recognized and conversely attacked. Pray God intervenes so that the children of this country and the world can benefit from our desire to serve the Lord.
