Shield Us O Lord

Merciful Father,
We are strong in faith but weak in confidence. We trust in the Lord and worship you for the treasure you are, yet we remember our failures and sins. Like David, they are ever before us.
Father God, the evil one prowls and stalks us, reminding us of our failures and taunting us with unworthiness. Father God, I pray you would infuse your children with your divine strength, reminding them of their identity as your children and heirs with Christ, empowering them to resist the enemy's attacks.
The evil one is hungry, Lord, and he tries to derail our work in your name. Shield us, Father. the enemy knows our weaknesses and places them before us. Lord, open our eyes to the snares hidden before us.
The demonic imps of the evil one are among us, talking to us, working with us, and trying to move us from the narrow road. Lord, fill us with scripture like Jesus in the 40 days to repel them. Lord, help us “put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against Satan's schemes.”
Father God, you knew the end before the beginning; You are the author of our lives. In You we trust, in You we rely, and in You we find salvation. We trust in your plan, knowing that it is for our good and your glory.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
