Merciful Father,
Today, we worship you. You alone are the center of our existence. You are the center of our happiness and satisfaction. You alone are the center of our salvation. For this reason, we lift up our worship to You in words and song.
As creatures of sin, we are reconciled with You by You. In Your mercy and grace, You decided to spare Your creation with an offer of eternal life. In return, Lord, we whom You have chosen are given the awareness to recognize the gospel and embrace it in an act of submission, an act of surrender, and most importantly, unwavering faith.
In the transformation of our hearts, you, a spring of living water, bubbles up from our hearts, and we are compelled by the overwhelming joy to share this gospel with those who have not yet experienced your grace.
Father God, as we begin a new week, we pray that your name is hallowed in the hearts of your saints. We pray for the coming of your kingdom and that your plan for your creation will be done.
Father God, we know that everything we need every day will be provided by you, for you have set us before the sparrows of the field. Lord, forgive your sinful people as we, within whom you dwell, forgive those who have injured us. Merciful Father, help us to repent and turn from our sins and continue to guide us along the narrow path that we may soon dine at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Lastly, Lord, protect us from the evil one, his imps, and his demons. Help us to recognize the prince of this world and reject all that he lays before us, your words he twists, and our weaknesses he will exploit. For you, Father God, are sovereign, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient; no other power in hell, on earth, or in heaven can compare to Yahweh, the one true living God.
In the precious name of Christ Jesus, we pray, amen.
