Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts,  O righteous God! (Psalm 7:9 ESV)

Father, God,

We pray this Psalm. Lord, we are weary in a time of violence, hatred, and distrust. Yet, we trust in you. We find comfort in the knowledge that you are in control of all things in creation. A day of peace, Lord, is relief for your children. Even as the sun rises on a new day, we know Satan is afoot. We hold onto this trust, knowing that a drop of rain does not fall unless you command it.

Christ, we eagerly await your return, for when you make all things right, evil will be vanquished. We long for the rider's coming on the white horse, written on his robe and thigh, King of King and Lord of Lords. This anticipation fills us with hope and reassurance.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray, Amen.
