On This Sabbath Day

Lord, because you created it, the Sabbath Day is special. It is a day to spend in peace, but not alone. Father, I pray you will give us peace that surpasses understanding. I pray you will grant us the serenity to seek you. Lord, grant us peace with our family and our friends.

Father, in these difficult times, I ask for help to build relationships as Jesus showed us. Father, help us to worship you in a way that we glorify you as you deserve. Please help us keep you in view, meditate on your words, and hear your voice. Lead us through the weekend assured that you are with us and know that with you, each day is unique. On this holiday weekend, I ask that we remember the workers who have made and still make this country great. We remember those who built this country into what it has always been: a beacon of hope. Lord, help those who have lost faith in America to remember and return to its Christian roots. I pray this country will return to you in a revival to rival all others.
