“Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5 ESV)
A Psalm of David, Psalm 25, is a prayer and plea to God for help. David was a sinner and relied upon the God of his fathers for forgiveness. While David was made King by God’s hand, David struggled in the world like us. David’s plea to God to be taught should be ours as well. David’s desire to be led by the Lord should also be our desire. In our failures, we repent, ask for forgiveness, and wait on the Spirit to strengthen, teach, and lead us in the footprints of Christ.
Prayer:
Father God,
It is you, God, that fulfills us. You are our sunrise, the stars in the heavens, all set in place by your hand. I pray you will put us in our place in the kingdom so we may grow in sanctification and become desirable faithful servants. Forgive our sins, Lord, as you taught us to forgive others. You are the light in the darkness that cannot be overcome. In the name of Christ, we pray, Amen.
