My Father, My God,

I pray You would help your people; help them, please. Let them see their selfishness and rebellion for what it truly is. Father, You know what is in us; You know we are weak. The world is against us, Lord, against Your people. I pray deeply for Your mercy,

Father, for Your people, I pray they would contemplate their morality and recognize their finite life. I pray they would see the wall of sin before them and they would realize it can only be demolished by Your mercy. More importantly, Father, I pray You will continue to raise up men who are not afraid to preach the Word—women who will lead women and children to Your feet. We have no words except Yours. As this world spins on its axis, I feel we are spinning in a whirlpool that is dragging us to the bottom as we struggle against it. Lift up Your people, Lord, for we cannot lift ourselves. We are weak and feeble, small and insignificant.

We worship You, and yet, You still deserve more. We praise You, knowing our praise can be stronger and louder. We glorify You because only You can shine brighter than our dimly lit fire. Although it burns bright in us, it is dwarfed by Your light. You are above all things. Father, help them; please have mercy.

In Jesus name, we pray, amen.
