Brothers and Sisters,
This article was on Fox News this morning, written by Paul Tisley. It is titled “Islamist terrorists kill 49 Christians in African church massacre; eyewitness reveals horrific details.”[1] It is heartbreaking to read, but I recommend you do.
Tisley reports 49 people, men, women, and children, were murdered in an Islamist Jihad fashion killing spree in the D.R. Congo in a church and on church grounds. The murders were part of the “Islamist Allied Democratic Forces” (ADF), a sanctioned rebel group with roots in Uganda.
The article stated, "Attackers came in," she said, "and they beheaded Christians in the church." The jihadists "killed those they met in the church hall. Those who tried to flee they caught them and killed them in the compound. And then some others who managed to run towards the road, those also were caught and killed. All of them were killed with machetes. Most of those Christians who were killed were Catholics."
Henrietta Blyth, CEO of Open Doors UK and Ireland, stated, "This is a crisis of biblical proportions.” Blyth also stated, "This is a silent slaughter happening, which nobody is discussing. It's like the slaughter of the innocents in the Bible, really. I mean, women and children are being targeted along with men. Nobody is reporting on it. Nobody even seems to be particularly concerned about it."
We cannot be ignorant of the persecution that is growing dramatically each year. If we do, it will be in our backyards before we know it. Christ spoke of persecution and prophesied what we are now seeing. The prince of the power of the air is tightening his grip on this world. I am sure it is because he knows his time is short.
Pray for Africa, pray for the Christians of the world, that we may remain united in Christ and, like Stephen, face persecution while speaking the Word of God and proclaiming our faith in Christ.
May God bless His church. Grace and Peace
We do need to pray for our brothers and sisters under persecution. Thank you for sharing this.
