“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 ESV)

A person will scarcely die for a righteous person, much less an evil one. That’s what we are without Christ, evil. To die for someone, you love is an act of love. To die for one, you do not know is an act of heroism. It takes a special heart to place oneself in a position to die to save someone else.

It is almost unbelievable to the perishing that a God, the God of creation not only could die but would die for the very thing He created. After all, He is God, how could he die? Given our God is three in person, one in being, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It was possible, as was the resurrection of Christ from the dead, and His ascension into heaven.

The love of God is unimaginable. My friend let me tell you the love of God has no end. He sent His only son, Jesus, in human form, born of a virgin that He might walk in the very creation, He created. John wrote of this in his gospel, chapter 3 verses 16 and 17 which read, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

This is the love of God. God came to earth and died for you. He died to save you from your sin. You were purchased by His blood, and He, God, saved you from the wrath of God so that you could glory God in your salvation. That is simply amazing.

But the greatness of God does not stop there. Once your give your life to Christ, nothing or no one can pluck you from His hand. Paul wrote in Romans 8:35-39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Nothing, not the power of the enemy, our sins as saints, or the demonic powers of the world can take us from our Savior once we profess our belief in Him. We become His, bought and paid for by His sacrifice, cleansed by His blood and rejoined to the Father with grace and by faith. All from the love of God.

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” How about you? Have you been crucified with Christ? Does He live in you? Are you living by faith? My friend there is no more time. Our lives are but a vapor and when God calls, we go, ready or not.

If you do not know Christ as our Savior, seek Him now and find everlasting life in the hands of the Lord.

Grace and peace.
