“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 ESV)

The doctrine of authority and inerrancy of scripture is important to the structure and foundation of our faith. Yet, many people, including Christians, will deny this fact, especially when it comes to the creation account. They will believe almost everything else, but when faced with modern science, they will deny it.

When the creation account is denied, Christianity falls apart. We lose man's identity, morality, marriage, God's power and sovereignty, and so on. God gave scripture to man under divine authority and inspiration. One must believe this is true, as every other lesson in the Bible is true.

Another account in the Bible that always causes contention is Joshua 10:12-14.  At that time, Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”  And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.

The sun stood still. Really? You know that if that happened, the world would burn to a crisp; the ice caps would disintegrate, and the world would end. Oh really? Yet God created the heavenly bodies and placed them in their quadrants and said from this path you will not deviate. The stars and planets obeyed. God created the waters and seas and told them you will come to this point of land, and you will stop. The waters rose up in worship. God raised the mountains and lowered the valleys, and the mountains and valleys praised God. God says to man, come here, and you say no. Do you not think that God can pause creation and everything in it with a snap of His fingers?

You believe the Son of God can be raised from the dead so you could be saved from your sin, and you think the acts of God in the Bible are a fairy tale? If that is you, then I can tell you how Jesus feels about you, “you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. (Revelation 3:15-17 ESV). He will tell you this, if you are still on this planet when He comes the second time.

My friends, it may seem that I am being harsh, but do you see my point? With God, you are either all in or all out. You cannot walk between the headship of Adam and the Headship of Christ. It does not work. You cannot compromise. The Bible is inerrant. Any being who can create everything from nothing can do anything He wants, no matter what the rules of physics say. He has, and He will.

Peace and Grace!
