Merciful Father,
On this Thanksgiving Day, we have much to be thankful for and all by Your hand.
We thank you for sending your only begotten Son on a mission of redemption, saving Your people from their sins.
We thank you for your mercy and your grace, without which we would be condemned.
We thank you for your patience with your sinful, rebellious people.
We thank You for loving us despite that very same nature and for rejoining us believers in a living relationship with You through Your Son, our Savior, Christ Jesus.
We thank you for the food and drink you place before us, and pray that those in need would be fed through Your bounty.
We ask forgiveness for our sins, for grace and mercy to forgive those around us, and for love to bring them closer to us.
Lord, none of these things come by our own merit but from Your love for Your children.
We are thankful for today and look forward to Your second coming, when we will meet You in the air in all Your glory.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, for His sake and ours, we pray, Amen.
