"Fear Not, For I Am With You"

You whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:9-10 ESV)

Isaiah is one of the greatest prophets in the Old Testament. His prophecies surrounding the birth of Christ and announcing the coming Messiah are ones almost all Christians know. Isaiah’s vision gives an idea of the glory of God, and he was used by God in a time of the Israelites time of rebellion is well recorded.

In Chapter 40, God speaks of His provisions of comfort for Israel. He speaks of the assurance we find in His word.He then speaks of His power and glory. In these Chapter 41 God reminds Israel and the descendants of Abraham, Judah, and Jacob of His care for His people. God did not create and then leave the world to its own demise. No, God is a living God who cares for His creation.

When we are in the depths of despair, have illnesses that affect our quality of life, illnesses that are life threatening, be there monetary issues, family issues, or whatever trial you are facing. You must have faith in God. He will never turn His face from His children and it is He who controls all things in your life. God will use these trials for His good molding us into the image of Christ. He may use them so that we may witness to another facing the same trial.

God know the answer to all things. He is omniscient and we, as Christians, must remember that. God is omnipresent which means He is everywhere. God knows and sees all that goes on in your life and as Isaiah tells us, “fear not, for I am with you.” Paul reminded Timothy of something we all need to remember. Even when we are faithless, in our time of trouble, given up on God because the circumstances are unchanging and desperate. God remains faithful, always. “If we are faithless, he remains faithful” (2 Timothy 2:13). For those who are unbelievers, never having had faith, God still remains faithful to His elect. Paul also writes, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).

If God has chosen you for adoption, you will come to Him in His time. No sin can stop it. No rejection or stay can stop you from coming to Him as the grace of God is irresistible. Paul wrote, No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:3). Our God does not create evil. He may ordain it so that He might use it for His good, but God does use What is ordained for His good.

So as the writer of Hebrews reminds us, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23) If you are a believer, cling to Christ. You have not been abandoned but maybe in a test of faith, much like Job. But God will bring you out of it and you will rejoice.

If you do not know Christ, seek Him to His grace and mercy. They are new everyday and peace of Chris will descend upon you. You receive eternal life by grace through faith alone in Jesus.
