Father,
Today is Father’s Day, and our thankfulness and devotion to You, our heavenly Father, goes on in our unending devotion.
We recognize that fatherhood takes many forms, and we pray for all those who have taken on the role of a father, whether through birth, adoption, or mentorship.
I pray, Father, you will give every father wisdom. Give us the wisdom to teach our children a healthy fear of and love for You.
I pray that you will give every father the grace to raise our children, just as you have given us your grace. Let them feel the weight of this responsibility, but also the support of Your grace and ours. Father, give us the grace to make a way for our children to open their hearts to our Lord, Christ Jesus, that they may come to know salvation through His finished work on the cross.
Father, I pray that You give us the ability to be merciful in the face of rebellion, just as You have been merciful with us. Let us discipline our children with love, understanding that they are learning and growing. Give us the ability to teach and reprimand with love, not anger or disappointment.
Lastly, Father, I pray that our children know the depth of our love for them and pray they experience Your love, which surpasses all earthly love. Let us reflect You to our children that they may know that they are in our hearts, just as You know our hearts belong to You.
In the precious name of Christ Jesus, we pray, Amen.
