Father Forgive Me

Heavenly Father,

Let the words of Psalm 51 be my heart’s cry today, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” Like David, Lord, I know I have sinned, and my sin is against you. Blessed Lord, When I feel the weight of the sin in my life, it is through you that I find freedom by seeking your mercy and grace.

It is through your Son that I ask forgiveness for allowing sin to take hold of me. I am thankful for your promise that you will “not reject a broken and repentant heart.” Lord, we are blessed that you will never abandon us even though we continue to fall. I am grateful that you sent your son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins so that I may be forgiven. Lord, I worship and praise you for the gift of salvation! Father God, I am broken; please accept this prayer of repentance as I turn away from sin. Thank you for restoring me again, for I am weak, and you are loving and merciful.

In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

We are all weak in some way. Lust of the eyes, selfishness, or covetous. If you say you are not, you are guilty of lying as well. Our Lord knows our hearts and awaits our repentance. It is by His blood that we are forgiven, and we have the assurances of salvation; we remain God's child. When you mess up, and you will, Christ is there; repent and receive His endless gift of mercy. This does not mean we continue to sin, only that we hold tighter to our savior so that we may become more pure in His eyes.

Grace and Peace.
