Easter Prayer

What a Day of Rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory”. 1

Father, our hearts overflow with thankfulness for the eternal life you have given us. We acknowledge that we will one day “Sing and shout the Victory”, over death and the grave that your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus, has secured for us.

This is the eternal confidence that each person who professes Jesus as their savior has, that one day “we will all see Jesus”. This promise from the Holy Scriptures gives us assurance that this life we now live is not our final home.

This time of year, when we remember the sacrificial death of our Savior on the cross, His burial, and His glorious resurrection, helps us to focus on how faithful you are. We remember that you are The Promise Keeper. You promised that you would provide a savior to Adam, Abraham, Issaic, Jackob, Moses and all the prophets in the Old Testament. You showed them that it is by faith, by trusting in God’s promise, that all are made right with the creator of the universe. You fulfilled every promise ever made to the saints of old. John 3:16 so beautifully expresses these fulfilled promises, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” You proved that you are a promise keeper by providing the only way for us to have our sins forgiven and to receive eternal life, through faith in your Son.

Today, Easter Sunday, the day of Jesus' blessed resurrection, we rejoice with all the angels in heaven because we know, “What a Day of Rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory.”

In the precious name and for the glory of our Savior, the Lord Jesus, we humbly thank you.
