Merciful Father,

We praise You for sending Your Son as the perfect sacrifice, the unblemished Lamb of God, the propitiation of Your wrath. We, as sinners, acknowledge the cost of our redemption and are humbled at the price paid for us that we might be reunited with You.

At the incarnation, Satan and all the demonic principalities trembled. Today, they ran and fled, for they all knew Christ had defeated Satan, sin, and death. Humanity was allowed to be unshackled from the slavery of sin and death: “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep”(1Corinth 15:20). We, Abba, are blessed to be the proliferation of that first fruit.

Father God, we are deeply thankful for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. In a life that is often isolated, we can remember that we are never alone. He is a protector and strengthener we can cling to during the deepest, darkest trials and tribulations. We are grateful for the connection and support we have through the Holy Spirit, and for your grace and mercies that carry us in our darkest times and carry our burdens.

Father God, we often focus on the negative instead of the positive. This Easter, let us remember that all joy, hope, and satisfaction are found in You. Let us remember that Christ provides what we need before we know we need it. Let us magnify your glorification through our satisfaction in you. Let us seek that satisfaction and remember that all our desires, hopes, and needs are fulfilled in You.

We pray, Lord, that we would understand all our desires that lead to sin, especially our secret sin, the sin we hide, which can be eliminated by focusing on You as the fulfillment of all our desires. We pray for continued growth in sanctification and for the joy and fulfillment that comes from our relationship with You.

Jesus, You said You would always be with us, and we know You will always guide us. You knew us before creation, and You know our hearts. You know the end of our path as we walk the beginning and the middle and approach the end.

You came in the incarnation to save, love, and show us how to live a pleasing life before God. Let us be reassured by your constant presence and guidance in all things. Let us be pleasing to God in everything we do, and in our failures, lift us and once again set our feet on the narrow path.

In the precious name of our resurrected Savior, Christ Jesus, we pray, Amen.
