Could I, Could You?

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Luke 11:10 ESV
Could I have a large coffee cream with no sugar? Could I get a happy meal with chocolate milk? Could I have five minutes of your time? Could we do something special today? Could you please pick up your room? Could you please take out the trash? How many times in a day do you say, “Could I,” or “Could we?”
Do you know our Lord Jesus? Better yet, does he know you? Jesus said, “On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” (Matt 7:22-23 ESV).
Suppose you know of Jesus that is great. But Jesus wants you to know Him; ask Him. Could I get to know you, Lord; could you help me? I am lost, Lord; could you help me find my way? I believe in you, Lord; could I be saved?
It’s a much better way to use “could,” don’t you think? Just knock; He is always there.
