Coram Deo

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV)

Let me ask you, was that you yesterday? Amidst the stress, the rushing, the sheer volume of work, was that you? When your family piled in your house, was that you? I tried; I think I did better than usual. I prayed. In the short time between stopping the preparation and the arrival of the family, I was in deep, profound prayer.
We tend to lose our patience with those we love the most. It is easier to be impatient with our family. Like mine, I am guessing there are those in your family who know of Christ but do not know Him, nor does He know them. Now, we cannot judge who knows Christ and who doesn’t, but we can get a pretty good idea by one’s demeanor and actions. Did you reveal Him to them? Did you reflect Him to them? When they looked at you, was it His light they saw shining in your eyes? Did you pray with your heart so that your prayer raised someone’s head? A cry to Abba for one who does not know Him is a seed for us to plant. It is easy to become too relaxed with family. We should always reflect Christ to those around us, especially those who know us the most. It is easy to evangelize to those you do not know, yet often, we neglect those who know us but not Christ. One tiny seed at a time is the easiest way to accomplish this with loved ones.
Shine the light of Christ on everyone around you, especially those closest to us who may need Him the most.
Peace and Grace!
