"But God"

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”(Ephesians 2:4-6 ESV)

But God, what a powerful statement that highlights His intervention in our lives and can be applied to many aspects of God's plan for us. We needed a savior because we could not save ourselves from our sins. But God. He loved us despite our sinful nature and sent His Son, Christ Jesus, on a mission of Salvation through His own sacrifice on the cross.

Can God save anyone He chooses? Yes, He can. If you have not found salvation through Christ alone and think you are too bad, too far gone to be saved, consider this. Some brothers and sisters will give you their testimony about their life before Christ and will tell you I:

Was an adulterer…But God

I am an alcoholic…But God

I am a drug addict…But God

I was a thief …But God

I was a murderer…But God

Most common of all, I was a non-believer…But God, He saved me from my sins.

Everyone was born in sin. Everyone is a sinner. In the eyes of God, sin is sin. With only a few called an abomination before God, sin is sin. Some religions say there are minor sins, sometimes called venial sins. Other “greater” sins are called mortal sins. Folks, sin is sin, and in the eyes of God, unless one has faith in Christ as their Savior and repents those sins, they will incur the wrath of God as payment for their evil. Reflect on your life today and consider your need for God's grace and salvation.

In our salvation through grace, by faith in Christ Jesus, we are raised up, made righteous despite our sins. Paul also tells us that we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus. We are not headed for a stop-off or a detour to be cleansed before we meet Christ. No, in our salvation, we are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. We are cleansed, justified, meaning we are blameless, our sin debt paid for by Christ on the cross. When we die, we will stand immediately before the white throne of judgment to answer for the good and bad we did in our lives.

We are sinners, you are a sinner. Most people laugh at that today. It is not a laughing matter. If you are feeling the weight of your sins, your mind replaying them, and you regretting them, this is the Holy Spirit drawing you to God. Let go of your fear and doubts. You are not too far gone for God to save. God is infinitely powerful. Run to Him now. Trying to fix yourself? You will fail over and over again, but God. The only way to rid yourself of sin is to be saved by the blood of Christ; you will then be a new creature, with life eternal in heaven, when you are glorified before God. Seek Christ; eternity awaits you, either in heaven or in hell.
