And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:11 ESV)
I have often wondered how they missed it. Think about it: every Pharisee, every Sadducee, and every Jew who witnessed the ministry of Jesus missed or denied the fact that Jesus was the Christ. He raised the dead, restored hearing to the deaf, restored sight to the blind, even those blind from birth, and exorcised demons, and yet they missed or denied it. God the Father spoke to Jesus while He was in the presence of others; they heard it, they heard it, and yet they denied it. How is this possible?
Even those who searched the scriptures missed it. They either missed scripture, not making the link to Christ, even though scripture was obviously fulfilled, misinterpreted it, or outright denied it. They denied every single messianic prophecy Jesus fulfilled. How? They were not His elect. They served themselves and the world. They had not been enabled to see and hear the gospel. They were not of God.
Here we are some two thousand years later, and the same blinding and denial continues. On a mass scale, the prince of the power of the air tightens his control of our world. But my Brothers and Sisters, God’s elect who have not met Him, are still out there in the world. The seed may or may not have been planted. I see them in our ministry; I have seen the planted seed, and I have seen the unknowing come to knowledge. The greatest blessing in my life has been that I have witnessed God save. I cannot save someone, you cannot save someone, but we can be the vessel that God uses to unveil the Gospel.
We at InMessiah always ask that you do everything you can to spread the Gospel. It is crunch time. We must take the gospel to the masses. Jesus told us in Mark 16:15 ESV, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” It is the primary commission of every Christian to preach the gospel. Even if you only help one person, it is worth it. Become a part of a ministry in or out of church. Become part of an outreach program. Whatever you can do, do it in the name of Christ. God will bless you.
Peace and Grace!
