Both Eyes Open Please

“Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be as sheep that have no shepherd.” (Numbers 27:16-17 ESV)

We are struggling in the world. Many world leaders are not who they should be, for the people. Some pose as Christians quoting scripture yet enact laws erasing or completely disregarding the Word of God.

We have come to a place where we should all be prepared for the consequences of being a Christian. History repeats itself, and we are conceivably looking at Rome in the 69 century before our eyes today. The liberal left hates Christianity and God. They talk of tolerance, yet spew hate at Christians.

This prayer from Numbers is a must for all Christians today. Pray for leaders who can unite, not divide, like many of today's leaders. Every day I write this blog, I think I will be one of the first they come for... those wanting to erase Christianity. My former vocations, politics, and deep devotion to Christ will eventually make me a target. I will not turn tail and run; as Paul wrote, “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

I did not write this to be a political statement. However, it is meant to remind us of that liberty, freedom, and the republic we live in are only a generation away from becoming a memory. Above all things, never compromise Christ, never.

We should also pray this prayer from Numbers that God would raise up strong Church leaders who will not compromise the Word of God. Who will treat it as it is, flawless and undeniable. Who will lead Christians as Christ desired and not leave the sheep without a Shepherd.

My message is a difficult one, but it is one we all need to consider. We must not be the blind leading the blind, lest we all fall into the crevasse.
