Blessings for the New Year

Merciful Father,

As we start this new year, we have so much to be thankful for, and You have delivered everything to us. Father, we kneel before You and humbly ask for Your blessings for the upcoming year.

We pray for our family and friends, Lord, that they will find happiness and fulfillment in You, Your Son, Christ Jesus, and that their happiness and contentment will glorify You. We pray that we will have faith and rely on our assurances in difficult times, knowing You are always with us.

Father God, shield us from the dark one. While we have been removed from the world, he taunts and beckons us, knowing our weaknesses. He tries to exploit us and seeks to pull us back into the world. While we know he cannot, he still attempts to wreak havoc in our lives.

Father God, we pray for the Holy Spirit to edify and strengthen us. We pray that He will continue to guide our sanctification, bringing us closer to You. We pray that the Spirit will enable the elect so that the Gospel of Your Son will continue to grow in the nations and transform others.

Lord Jesus, we are thankful for Your intervention and mediation in our lives. Lord, You are in us, and only You know our hearts. We pray for Your mercy and grace in times of rebellion and failure. We pray that You would reveal Yourself to the elect. We pray for Your second coming when this world of sin and evil will no longer exist, the beast will be cast into the lake of fire, and You will reign in the New Jerusalem.

We pray for our readers, Lord, that Your words given to us would strengthen them and empower them to bring many to the table of the Lamb. We pray they would actively spread the news we proclaim so that more would come daily.

We pray for our evangelists, who work tirelessly with In Messiah. We also pray for our partner ministries, both here and in Kenya. Strengthen us, Lord, that we may remain diligent in Your service.

My God, You are all-powerful, all-mighty, and perfect in every way. We pray and leave these things to Your will and trust in You, for You have never failed in Your covenants or promises.

"And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 ESV)
