Be busy in the work of the Lord

Galatians 5:13

Galatians 5:13 ESV You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

I love reading the Apostle Paul. He speaks clearly and with direction for which there is no mistaking his intent. Let’s see what Paul is telling us in this passage. Paul is writing to those who are in the body of Christ in the church of Galatia. Those elect who have by faith in Christ been redeemed. Now free of sin, Paul gives them instructions on resisting sin. He does this knowing full well that even though we are saved through Christ we are human and will still struggle with sin. His instruction reminds us to resist the temptations of Satan. The prince of the power of the air knows what trips us and causes us to fall. He uses that against us in an attempt to lure us away from Christ. To defeat Satan, Paul guides us into Christian service. If we are occupied with Christ, Satan loses the opportunity for temptation.

Romans 6:1-2

We see this message again from Paul in the epistle to the Romans. In Romans 6:1-2 ESV he writes, What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? This theme is so applicable today. We as the church are still tempted as was the church back then. The beautiful thing is that the Apostle Paul still preaches his message 2000 years later if we only take the time to read it. Remain in Christ and do His work. You will feel fulfilled, and with purpose if you will carry out His command. The command Jesus gave to his apostles also applies to us, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” This command is the fulfillment of the law.

If you do not know Christ, I pray for you. I pray that you will submit to his righteousness and ask Him for forgiveness for your sins. Ask Him to take over your life and become your Lord. He will bless you and love you with a never-ending love. If you think you are not worthy of this love you are wrong. Christ forgives all who come to Him. It is only through Him that you will find salvation, forgiveness, endless love, and everlasting life. It is only through Him that you will reach the Father. Blessings to you!
