ASabbath Prayer

Father God, Today, I choose to be at peace in Your rest and be in harmony with You. Today, Father, I will delight in the goodness in the world You have made, and I will dream of the perfect world You will remake in Your glory.

Father, I will turn from demands and deadlines and not allow for performance pressures. I will turn from that which robs my soul of joy. I will deny the world that seeks to define and shape who I am.

Instead, Father, I choose to focus on Your affirmation and love and the celebration of freedom from sin and death given to us through faith in Your Son, Christ Jesus.

Today is a day to worship You and Your word, a day in which to be immersed in the enjoyment that fills my soul with joy, that reminds me of my identity in Christ, a deeply loved adopted child of God.

It is this I pray in Christ’s name, Amen.
