“ Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:27 ESV)
God's provision for His children is a source of reassurance. He knows every animal in creation and provides for them. Not one of them will die without His permission. Christ's words in Matthew 10:29, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows,” is a testament to this.
Based on both Matthew 6 and chapter 10, the Word of God affirms your worth to Him.
At this moment, many are facing challenges. Federal workers, Federal contractors, and local businesses are all struggling due to a lack of pay or a significant decrease in business traffic. Yet, those in Christ continue each day in faith, knowing that God will provide for them. It is our unwavering faith in God that empowers us to navigate through difficult times.
For those who do not know the Lord, there is often anxiety, apprehension, and fear of the unknown. Many begin to seek the Lord because, in their desperation, they realize there is nowhere else to turn. If you have come to In Messiah today, for the first time, or even the second, know that here God’s words are written and applied to our everyday life. The act of seeking the Lord has the power to transform your life, offering hope and inspiration.
These times are challenging, and they are difficult for Christians as well. However, our faith tells us that no matter how difficult they are, the Lord will use these difficulties for His purposes and will provide for us, no matter how desperate or anxious we become.
In the Book of Exodus, the Israelites spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness. There, they had no food or water. Especially in the desert, water was essential, or many would have died. Not only did he provide water from a stone, but manna, a honey-like wafer, and quail, meat for them to eat. God provides all things to His children who remain faithful.
If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, seek Him now. Do seek Him out of desperation alone, but by His grace, He pulls you to Him. After all, if you came here seeking Him, is that not the reason? Like all His sheep, He has called you. Now, answer Him, there you will find all of the grace and peace that you cannot even imagine—the peace of the risen Son of God, Christ Jesus.
