And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”(Revelation 4:9-11 ESV)
Merciful Father,
You are worthy of all our praise and glorification. As John wrote, we fall down before you like the elders in humble devotion. Your power overflows in the creation around us. Your grace and mercy are present in our lives. Yet despite our depravity, knowing full well we would be rebellious, You sent your Son Jesus to die for us and secure our salvation.
We call no one else Father, for You are our only Father in heaven, for You created each of us in Your image. We look to no one else to confess our sins and reveal our repentance but our mediator with You, our Lord Christ Jesus. We are saved through grace alone, by faith alone, in our redeemer Christ alone. We are changed and made righteous, receiving Your Holy Spirit who delivers our Salvation, by indwelling each of us, delivering your grace, bringing forth our faith and salvation.
Father, You alone are the creator of all things, the designer and author of our lives, and You did all this before time. In Your eternal glory, You decided to share the overflowing love of the Godhead, sharing Your vision with Your Son, who created all things by Your blueprints of glory. (John 1:3) And as the Holy Spirit hovered over the water, You spoke and the Spirit delivered the pneuma of life. (Genesis 1:3)
We worship and glorify you, our Father, our Redeemer, and our Advocate. We pray for the perseverance of the saints and look for Your second coming when we will be joined with You in the air, and in heaven, we too will cast our crowns and worship and glorify You for eternity.
In the precious name of Christ Jesus, we pray, Amen.
