A Man of God

“Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day.” (1Kings 8:61 ESV)

My uncle passed last night peacefully and went to the Lord. A family man and a man of God, he taught his children every answer to life's problems was found in the Bible and showed them where they were. Rigid and unconforming he believe scripture was inerrant and could not be changed to fit societies whims. I loved him for that. A huge knowledge of scripture that often left me with my mouth open. A deep love for the Lord that surpassed all things and belief and hope for the resurrection.

There is no doubt in my heart he is seated at the Lord’s table this morning. He made me laugh and called me son. I hope one day I can be devoted to God as deeply as he was. I held his hand and whispered to him you are God’s child; run to Christ. He whispered back he was running.

Loved by many, a teacher to some, and an awesome daddy and granddaddy.

I love you, uncle, and I am blessed you loved me.
