A Sabbath Prayer

Abba, Father,

On the third day, He rose. The Christian Sabbath begins and ends with the Lord of the Sabbath (Matt 12:8). Today, Father, I chose to rest with you. I will not worry nor think of what lies before me for the week. I will console myself in your Word, the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). Today, I will keep the Sabbath holy. Today, I will seek your peace and grace. I will reflect on the ministry of Christ and what He has done for me.

In Christ’s name, I pray, Amen
